Exploring Wine Country
Moravia, Czech Republic
So when we got back to Prague, we met up with some friends and headed to Moravia which is the wine country of Czech Republic. It took a 3 trains, but the last one was this cute little cart. One car, it had an engine like a car where you could hear it start and the conductor must have been cranky because all he did was honk the whole way there.
We stayed in a B&B not far from here (above). These were neat villas built into the hill so the cellar would be underground.
We were welcomed by a man who would be our gourmet guide. He only spoke Czech so our friends had to translate for us. But they met us with a drink and appetizer that was some kind of pulverized fat and something else on bread. It was actually pretty good.
We got to go into the cellar and explored the wines. They gave us a tasting of 8 or 9 wines, and said each person could choose their own one that they could have bottomless all night. Could you imagine that in Canada?! We also were served soup, a main course and meats, cheeses, and desert. It was a night of indulging for sure. But it was interesting, they have male and female serving sizes which was new for me to experience.
People always ask me if Le Prix can still make money from traveling around and shopping and the answer is yes. I think people envision this super glamorous style of travel. In the past I’ve found great deals (usually not direct flights), take public transit most of the time, and stay in private rooms in hostels. In this case in Austria, it was actually less expensive for us to stay in a hotel in Vienna, which was a total fluke, and rarely happens. But most of our travels include last minute accommodation bookings. I also have made friends around the world so I visit and stay with them, or also use Couch Surfing.

I am not so good at actively blogging each day as they happen so I did a little recap:
The last 3 weeks have flown by, and I love my new experiences. However, Czech, Hungarian and Slovak are hard languages to learn do and pronounce. I realize I am much better with Latin languages. But the people for the most part have been amazingly warm. With the ending of another trip, these moments are always bitter sweet. Sad to leave a new place of wonder and adventure with my lovely boyfriend (now in 2018 my husband!), and excitement to get back to my life in Canada (especially my wardrobe... living out of a bag can be a little monotonous for me).
Friends, family and Le Prix are waiting for me at home. Some things are reasons to be excited to come home. I love adding new life ideals from my travels to my life at home in my every day routine. Every trip makes me find a new perspective on life and motivations for continuing to grow Le Prix.
A little while later, I’m is waiting at the gate to board what looks like a very full plane to Toronto. The fashions I have seen have been interesting. Prague was pretty edgy, Bratislava was simple and Vienna was glamorous. I do have to admit that when I was in Vienna, the Opera Ball was happening. This is where all the rich and famous go to a Ball in the gorgeous Opera Building. It was fun to watch women in gorgeous dresses, fancy up-dos and sparkly jewelry walk by in the streets. Kim Kardashian was there and we even saw camera crews following women around.
The whole city was a mix of low-key style and glamour.
So while I day dream about my travels and Le Prix travel finds...I hope this inspires you to take that adventure you’ve been thinking about.
